Biostimulators

Biostimulators are substances that stimulate the body to regenerate itself. As far as the skin is concerned, biostimulators increase the production of collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid, which results in improved skin quality and firmness. As of your late twenties the collagen content of the skin continuously decreases. This results in a deterioration of the quality of the skin and more visibility of fine lines.

After an in depth analysis, Dr. Gieres will be able to determine which biostimulator will be the most suitable in your case.

Profilho – Skinbooster on hyaluronic acid base

Profilho consists of thermally interconnected hyaluronic acid. After being injected, this filler is diffusing on its own into the dermis and thus providing intensive hydration. In addition, this skinbooster encourages the skin to increase its production of collagen, elastin and endogenous hyaluronic acid.

A treatment takes about 30-40 minutes. After a thorough disinfection and marking of the areas to be treated. Profilho is carefully injected using very fine needles on predefined anatomical points. During the injection, you may a slight stinging sensation for a few seconds. After the treatment, tenderness, redness and swelling, as well as bruising are temporarily possible. Treatment should therefore be planned in relation to professional and private activities.

Make-up should not be applied for 24-48 hours after the treatment. An antiseptic cream should be applied to the entry points of the needle/cannula twice a day for 1-2 days. Sunscreen SPF 50 should be applied daily for 4 weeks. Physical activity should be postponed 24-48 hours. Sauna, steam baths or cold chambers are to be strictly avoided for 2 weeks.

The effect of the treatment can already be seen after 3-5 days. Since this treatment stimulates the endogenous production of collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid, the result can even improve in the following weeks. 1 to 2 sessions are recommended at 4-week intervals and the effect lasts about 1 year.

  • Pregnancy and / or breastfeeding
  • Allergies to lidocaine or other product ingredients
  • Local infections or open wounds in the treatment area
  • Ongoing immunotherapy
  • Tendency to develop hypertrophic scarring
  • Pretreatment with permanent, non-absorbable fillers

Dr Gieres is happy to answer any further questions regarding the treatment during a private consultation.

HArmonyCA – hybrid filler : hyaluronic acid and calcium hydroxylapatite

HArmonyCA contains hyaluronic acid calcium hydroxylapatite (Ca2 + HA), both of these ingredients naturally occur in the human body. Ca2 + HA stimulates the cells in the skin that are responsible for the production of new collagen and elastine, namely the fibroblasts. Hyaluronic acid allows to contour and compensate losses of volume.

A treatment takes about 30-40 minutes. After a thorough disinfection and marking of the areas to be treated, HArmonyCA is carefully injected using fine cannulas. To make the treatment as pleasant as possible, HArmonyCA contains a lidocaine additive (local anesthetic). Existing allergies or intolerance to local anesthetics should therefore be ruled out before treatment. However, during the injection, you may occasionally feel a slight stinging sensation.

The results will immediately be visible, although the result can further improve over the next 2-3 months, as the build-up of new endogenous collagen, stimulated by a HArmonyCA treatment, takes time. The effect can last for approx. 18-24 months.

  • Pregnancy and / or breastfeeding
  • Allergies to lidocaine or other product ingredients
  • Local infections or open wounds in the treatment area
  • Ongoing immunotherapy
  • Tendency to develop hypertrophic scarring
  • Pretreatment with permanent, non-absorbable fillers

Dr Gieres is happy to answer any further questions regarding the treatment during a private consultation.

Juläine – PLLA biostimulator

This product is based on poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA), which is derived from lactic acid and belongs to the family of aliphatic polyesters, known for their biocompatibility and their ability to break down naturally in the body. In the medical field, PLLA is found notably in dissolvable sutures.

In cosmetic dermatology, PLLA is injected to improve skin quality by stimulating the production of collagen and elastin through fibroblasts (the main cells of connective tissue). The injected PLLA microspheres degrade slowly and are subsequently replaced by newly produced collagen from the fibroblasts. These injections are primarily performed in the nasolabial folds, upper lip, and marionette lines, and are particularly suitable to avoid an overly voluminous effect.

  • Nasolabial folds
  • upper lip
  • marionette lines
  • fine lines in the cheek area

A treatment takes about 30-40 minutes. After a thorough disinfection and marking of the areas to be treated, Juläine is carefully injected using fine cannulas. To make the treatment as pleasant as possible, Juläine contains a lidocaine additive (local anesthetic). Existing allergies or intolerance to local anesthetics should therefore be ruled out before treatment. However, during the injection, you may occasionally feel a slight stinging sensation.

Sauna, steam baths or cold chambers are to be strictly avoided for 1-2 weeks. Massaging the injected areas several times a day is recommended, as instructed by the doctor.

The full effect of the treatment can only be seen after 2-3 months, as the accumulation of new endogenous collagen, stimulated by Juläine treatment, takes time. Usually, 2-3 treatments are necessary, and the effect lasts approximately 16-24 months.

  • Pregnancy and / or breastfeeding
  • Allergies to lidocaine or other product ingredients
  • Local infections or open wounds in the treatment area
  • Ongoing immunotherapy
  • Tendency to develop hypertrophic scarring
  • Pretreatment with permanent, non-absorbable fillers

Radiesse – calcium hydroxylapatite

Due to its viscosity qualities, Radiesse is mainly injected in the area of the hands, neck and décolletage. This filler does not necessarily aim to generate volume but to improve the quality of the skin as well as its elasticity. It encourages the body to replenish its own dermal collagen reserves.

Radiesse contains the synthetically produced active ingredient calcium hydroxylapatite (Ca2 + HA), which occurs naturally in the human body. Ca2 + HA stimulates the cells in the skin that are responsible for the production of new collagen, namely the fibroblasts.

  • Neck
  • Décolletage
  • Back of the hand
  • Arms
  • Legs
  • Lower third of the face

A treatment takes about 30-40 minutes. After a thorough disinfection and marking of the areas to be treated, Radiesse is carefully injected using fine, pointed or blunt cannulas. To make the treatment as pleasant as possible, Radiesse products contain a lidocaine additive (local anesthetic). Existing allergies or intolerance to local anesthetics should therefore be ruled out before treatment.

However, during the injection, you may occasionally feel a slight stinging sensation.

The full effect of the treatment can only be seen after 3 months, as the build-up of new endogenous collagen, stimulated by a Radiesse treatment, takes time. Up to two treatments may be necessary t, the effect lasts for approx. 1 year.

  • Pregnancy and / or breastfeeding
  • Allergies to lidocaine or other product ingredients
  • Local infections or open wounds in the treatment area
  • Ongoing immunotherapy
  • Tendency to develop hypertrophic scarring
  • Pretreatment with permanent, non-absorbable fillers
